Sooooo…I’m still in recovery mode and trying to accept the mud that seems to be permanently stuck under my toenails from Sunday’s frolic in mud. I will be happy, however, when my legs stop looking like I had a run-in with Tonya Harding.
I took Monday off from running and then yesterday was team practice – the dreaded 1 mile rolling hills repeat x 4. HOWEVER, since I’m still coughing up a lung, coach suggested I just do continuous repeats of the 1 mile loop – so done at a slightly lower intensity and without the 3 minute recovery between miles. I really didn’t think that it would be any less painful, but surprisingly it was an awesome workout! 9 miles total with warm-up and cool-down.
The continuous nature of it allowed me to get in a groove and my average pace was 7:05min/mile (4:24min/km) and when I do this workout with the recovery, it’s more like a 6:30min/mile pace…so I was pretty impressed with myself – as you can see by my sweaty selfie! lol
When I got home, I just flaked out on the couch…and of course I wasn’t alone.
I had trouble sleeping last night because of my cough and so I finally got up at around 1am and took some
poison cough medicine (it’s flavored with orange, cinnamon and cloves – WHY??). When I got back to bed (like 2 minutes later) this is what I found
