Proof I’m not a vegetarian (not that you needed it) and Abby takes something seriously.

This past weekend is celebrated here in Canada as Victoria Day weekend (the last Monday in May before May 25th) where we celebrate Queen Victoria’s bday (she reigned from 1837-1901) as well as the current monarch of England’s bday. Yeah, ok, I totally Wikipedia’d that. For most of us, it means a long weekend where we open cottages, plant our gardens, set off fireworks and get reacquainted with our neighbours we haven’t seen since the snow arrived last November!

So while in some ways it was a relaxing long weekend, I certainly got a lot done…

Put winter stuff away…(watch it snow this week)

Mowed the weeds my lawn…

Cleaned up and planted my front garden…fingers crossed those flowers grow!!

Did laundry…and got to hang it outside to dry…I don’t know why, but I love being able to do that!

And I also vacuumed, dusted and cleaned the entire house.

But I also had me some fun…

Saturday morning I went down to a local race’s course to catch my good friend, Anna, in her first triathlon…I ran 6 miles up and down the bike course – and while I saw her a few times, I missed getting a pic of her each time!!

Saturday night I helped celebrate my friend Jenn’s birthday – a bunch of us girls met up for dinner…

And yes, there was bacon on that burger. Obvi.

Afterwards we went to see a movie…it was the birthday girl’s choice for sure…

Pitch Perfect 2. Sigh. Ok, I’ll admit, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Saturday was kicked off by a 10 mile run with my teammate, Vanessa (I kinda look like a giant next to her – lol!). I am so lucky to have such awesome teammates – this run was like therapy for me.

Because this is the type of weather we had this weekend (that’s 96F)…

…I lost total control of my hair on the weekend…lol

And, with this wild hair, my parents took me out for dinner Sunday night…started off with a yummy drink to help cool me off from the heat of the day…

And then I just had a small dinner…

LOL. Half rack of ribs…I almost needed to be rolled out of there!

Yesterday, holiday Monday, was a 7 mile run where I realized my stomach is REALLY REALLY REALLY in need of some sun! (warning, you might need sunglasses)

And Abby took the holiday weekend VERY seriously…

Happy Tuesday!

p.s. A HUGE congrats to my best bud, Earl, on completing his first half marathon…this pain face earned him a speedy 1:33:39 in Saturday’s Airbnb Half Marathon!!

I love the second picture of Abby amongst the dandelions! I joke that my dog is like Ferdinand the Bull (did you ever read that children’s story?), because she loves to sniff and smell things! 🙂 Definitely not a vegetarian here!
