My newest method of delivery for bacon in my diet…and a lil’ bit of running!

Friday night I got myself a new pair of shoes. Since my Skechers GoRun are clearly not a good match for my body right now, I still needed a new pair to taper with this week and race in this coming Sunday. Sooooo…

I went back to my tried and true – Mizuno Wave Riders. I seriously love the colours!!

I did my longer run on Saturday morning with some of my teammates and Neal…sometimes, teammates’ boyfriends join us…and then, just like Neal did, we lose them somewhere along the way ’cause they forgot…GIRLS RUN FAST.

We did 12 miles and this being April 25th, I was NOT pleased that this was how I had to dress for it!

Sorry, way too many clothes for this time of year.

After the run I did some yard work in my back and front yards, including lugging out my patio set…

…no, not because I think it’s going to be warm enough to use it anytime soon but because if I didn’t do it then, I knew I probably wouldn’t get around to doing it until July…and by then, winter is almost back again! lol

Then Saturday night I did something REALLY REALLY exciting. I went to:

If you don’t know what Poutine is, you are missing out. The basic and original Poutine is fries, gravy and cheese curds. My friend Brad (from Texas/Nebraska) came to visit me last summer and I got him to try it…he was just as skeptical as some of you may be but in the end, he liked it! This was him before and after life with Poutine…

Anyway, this past weekend, a pedestrian street in downtown Ottawa had 3 blocks of nothing but food trucks serving every imaginable kind of Poutine. I was in heaven…because yes, many of them included bacon.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant…getting in on the action with things like Pad Thai Poutine

Check out the last one on this list below, the “All In”

If you can’t read it, this Poutine has: Spicy Italian sausage, crispy smoked bacon, ground beef, crispy popcorn chicken.Ā I was REALLY tempted to try but the line-up for this truck was insane so, in the end, I decided on this one…

It looks gross but trust me. I ate every last bit of it!!!

And I soooooo had a Poutine hangover Sunday morning!! Thankfully I had done my long run on Saturday so I only had to suffer through 6 miles with all that gravy and fries still sitting in my stomach!! LOL. I don’t regret it one bit.

After we had our Poutine, we walked around downtown for a while…it was a beautiful night!

This morning I woke up with this next to me…I burst out laughing.

Happy Monday!

Haha! Just love Abby! The pictures are wonderful! Did they fill the canal, then? And yes, I love the shoes! Ironic, because they are nearly the same color as the picture of the violets I posted (before I saw your blog post!).

When you say “poutine,” all I can think of is that Modern Family episode when Gloria is going to tell Jay that she’s pregnant – Jay’s daughter Claire is going through the list of times Jay’s put his foot in his mouth, including the following:

Cam: “It’s a French Canadian delicacy called poutine.”
Jay: “It looks like vomit so Iā€™m not ‘poutine’ it in my mouth.”

Cracks me up! šŸ˜€ Not the dish itself, just the humor of it.

ooh I’ve never heard of poutine before. sounds like a good “filling” time. haha.
and I like your shoes.! I’ve never tried Mizuno’s before, but I’ve heard lots of great things about them, if I wasn’t so in love with Asics I would venture out. lol
