A lil’ tempo + GOT, Abby and chocolate

When I turned on my light Tuesday morning, this is what I saw.

It’s ridiculous, right? And unbelievably cute. All I want to do is snuggle with her a little more! But soon, really, all she wants is for me to get up and feed her breakfast and take her outside.

Remember Monday was all warm and lovely? Yeah, winter came back. With a vengeance yesterday.

Tuesday is Tempo day…and I don’t know why I keep saying that “next week it will be 4 miles” because it’s really not. It’s 3 miles of tempo for the next few weeks. And I’m not complaining.

Normally I do about a 2 mile warm-up at a very easy pace but this morning I did 3 miles…not because I thought I needed the extra warmup, no, but because I had to finish Breaking Bad before starting my Tempo. I’m not sure how I feel about the ending – although I think there is an alternate ending on the DVD that I’ll have to look at. Overall though, GREAT series!!

So then, after the warm-up, I quickly jumped off my treadmill took out Breaking Bad and popped in..

My 3 miles of Tempo were filled with a whole lot of beheadings…and, at risk of sounding a bit morbid given what I just said, I LOVED what I saw so far and can’t wait for Friday when I’m next on the treadmill – lol, yup, I look FORWARD to my time on the treadmill. Note: this sentiment is ONLY present while living in non-humane outside temperatures. The treadmill in the summer is a torture device.

Tempo (7:15min/mi, 4:30min/km) felt pretty good, HR was in Zone 3, but the lower end of it which is good…

…but if I’m being honest, it did feel a little harder today than last week but I seriously think it was my watching of GOT and all the beheadings! LOL

Then I did some quick core work with the TRX, starting with suspended planks

And then throwing in some of these which, I found quite difficult – extend one arm and suddenly your legs are going in a different direction!

Last night was my monthly community association’s board of directors’ meeting – we hold our meetings at one of the local retirement homes. At 7pm, it’s a very peaceful place!

We have a really great group of individuals on the board this year and last night’s meeting took on a particularly passionate tone as we discussed the city’s announcement that, after surveying all residents, the feedback they received has validated their plans to move forward on rezoning, in certain wards of the city, residential properties into commercial ones. Yeah, the FIRST problem is that their survey only had 1200 respondents out of 250,000 residents in those wards. For one of the men on the board, his house is one of the ones identified to be rezoned. It’s so ridiculous that it’s funny. There is meeting at City Hall tonight…and I think it’s going to be a bit ugly. Sadly, I have a field hockey exec board meeting tonight so I’m going to miss the drama!

This was Abby as I turned out my light last night…I don’t even know how she rolled herself into the blanket like that!

And we had a slight slip in my plan to have her curl up on that blanket instead of my clothes in the morning…

But I think we’re still headed in the right direction – this is where she was when I came out of the shower…

It’s January so that means that Valentine’s Day chocolates are out!! I thought if I put them in a pretty pattern I would eat them slower…

Yeah, right.

Today is REST DAY!  Happy Wednesday!!

Abby’s adorable. Did you ever figure out how she curled up into that blanket?
Sounds like your government related crap is as bad as everyone else. We have the same issues where I live. council sends out a survey, only samples .05% of the population and then comes to the grand conclusion that EVERYONE accepts their stupid move. Government crap is never fun. Hope it all works out for those involved.

I have NO idea how she did it! LOL
Yes, the government and city council is ridiculous…luckly, our city councillor came to our meeting last night and he is furious too. Do you think Pinata could help us? She obviously has experience dealing with children…
