Can I tell you how wonderful yesterday was? After getting in a solid workout in the morning (and let’s be honest, when I say morning I mean LATE morning!) I literally spent the rest of the day like this:
I read, listened to music and snoozed…and I wasn’t the only one who had a day like this…
So I’ve been clamoring for snow for a while now and we were forecasted to get some yesterday/last night. And, while we did, and I don’t want to complain too much, I really was hoping for a little more!
I did 4 miles easy on the TM this morning – all in my Zone 1 HR. If you missed yesterday’s post on how I’m using my HR monitor to help inform my training check it out here: Heart Rate Training. Again, it was super slow, but felt great to be doing it! Then I did some core work using my TRX for pull-ins:
Ok, now here is where I have some REALLY exciting news – no, you don’t have to sit down, it’s really only exciting for me but hopefully you’ll be excited FOR me! I bought a new piece of equipment for my “gym”…of course, I needed some extra strength to help me put it together so I called my ever trusty neighbour – Fireman Chuck – who had just got off his 24 hour shift – and he came over with his tools!
A squat rack!!! WOOHOO!! Right now I have 100lbs on there. I AM SO EXCITED!! I didn’t know they made small ones like this that can be moved around easily! I found it at Fitness Depot and it cost $180. When I walked in there, the guy at the counter said, “Hey, I know you – but you haven’t been in here in ages!! Where have you been!?”. Ummm, running. LOL.
AND, literally while writing this post, I just signed up for my first race of 2015! The Mississauga Half Marathon on Sunday, May 3rd. Am registered and hotel is booked (it’s about a 4-5 hour drive from Ottawa). 18 weeks until Race day!! Bring it.
Happy Friday! (and last day of vacation – *sigh*)
