What a great weekend – totally re-charged am feeling really good right now!
Here are some before and after shots from my garden…will look awesome once all the flowers grow in!!
Before I went to bed last night I took some cold medication – was feeling super congested and was worried I wouldn’t sleep otherwise. Found the medication I used last time I was sick – in Italy last December! Went to visit an ex (from YEARS ago) who is a teacher by trade and had taken on a teaching position in Italy this year. We’ve remained friends and so when he invited me to come visit I pretty much jumped on the first plane available. It was a life changing experience for me (and my wardrobe!)…but I did end up with a cold at the end of the 10 days and had to go to a local “farmacia” and got these…always nice to recognize a brand and thankfully they use the same number symbols so I could figure out the dosing! LOL
Woke up this morning feeling like a train had hit me and my head was going to explode. But once I was outside “walking” Abby (we’ll get to that in a second), the pressure in my head lessened…I mean, how could it not when the day looked like this!!
As for Abby…she threw down into both Dead Dog and into her new favorite, Sleeping Grass Monster.
As mentioned I was slated to do a 90 minute EASY run this past weekend but I just didn’t feel like making this cold into anything worse. I have learned (the hard way) that at this point in my training (race is next weekend) I’m not going to gain anymore fitness I only risk injuring myself. So I went out this morning with pretty much Kleenex in one hand and throat lozenges in the other…
…and let me tell you I felt so strong, so happy, so light…and the weather was GORGEOUS. These are the type of views I had:
Less then 2km from my house
Lock system…love it!
One of the many bridges we can take to cross over to the province of Quebec
This is along the canal and will also be part of next weekend’s race route! 🙂
And…well…I didn’t exactly do what my coach asked me to do…I ended up doing a 75 minute tempo run…to be honest, I’m not sure I’m capable of “easy”…it’s a foreign concept…but one that I would probably be best to learn at some point! LOL!
Today is a holiday here in Canada (well most of Canada) – long weekends are the best!!
Happy Monday to you!!
